Trade Marketing Manager (Stamford, CT)

Job Description
Work with sales and marketing to leverage our trade partner's ability to communicate and sell to our end consumers through their media efforts, community programs, and in store activities to ensure we maximize the effectiveness of our trade spending. Analyze our business utilizing customer POS data, syndicated data, and consumer insights to create fact based selling stories to be used by our sales force that will enhance our selling effectiveness. A) Create selling stories from syndicated data and consumer insight: - Presentation development - Developing sales presentations from multiple information sources B) Work with marketing to create new item sales materials -Incorporate market dynamics, retailer pos data, NPD, etc C) Work with sales and marketing to create trade/market events (ie. Fathers Day, Christmas, etc. programs) D) Analyze the business to uncover opportunities through syndicated and POS data - Distribution and promotional opportunities based on retailer pos, factory sales, and consumer data - Identify strong competitive items to take defensive action against E) Lead category management efforts at key retailers - POS and NPD analysis for category reviews - Planogram recommendations - Deliver consumer insight to guide retailer decisions - Total category promotional planning - Pricing suggestions F) Lead internal category management efforts - Enhance the utilization of retailer POS data for performance tracking and decision making - Develop and continue to improve consumer insights for trade guidance

Preferred Profile
  • Consumer package goods sales, analysis, category management, trade marketing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data an identify opportunities
  • Strong understanding of the current retail environment with an ability to identify and communicate trends and practices (experience of working directly with major retail operations would be useful)
  • Strong proven record of supporting ideas with fact (i.e. story telling and fact based selling skills)
  • Knowledge and application of category selling principles
  • Strong conflict resolution skillsAptitude for sales (position could lead to sales opps in the future)
  • Flexibility with a "can do" disposition and attitude Willingness to travel domestically and to Europe when Philips is an equal opportunity employer.
